What Classes Do I Take?

Once you are eligible and scheduled into the Call Center Training Program, the OneStop and York Tech staff will conduct an assessment test to see what your current skills are and which skills need improvements.

The courses will range from a 36-hour basic skills course for those who already possess customer service and call center skills to a more advanced 120-hour course.  The staff will guide you through this process and you will be required only to take those courses that need improvement.

The following is a list of classes that would comprise the entire 120-hour course – but remember, you may test out of many of these courses which means you will only need to take those courses required to earn your certificate.

PROGRAM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum score of Level 3 on WorkKeys:  Reading, Math, Locating Information.  (Those who achieve borderline scores in an area other than reading will be provided tutor-supported remediation to increase those scores and qualify for program entry.)
  • Those who score below 3 in reading must be referred to an appropriate literacy program.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in retail industry or other customer service interaction.
  • Experience in a clerical position which includes use of computer.
  • Experience in a production environment + computer literacy
